The Boston Bruins made a couple of moves the day after getting dominated by the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-2.

The Bruins placed Matt Fraser on waivers, as first reported by TSN’s Darren Dreger. Teams have until noon Monday to claim the 24-year-old forward. Fraser must clear waivers in order for the team to reassign him to the AHL, but Claude Julien said the Black and Gold have other options besides sending him down to Providence.

“I think right now waivers could mean a lot of things,” Julien said, per CSNNE.com’s Joe Haggerty. “If he gets picked up, then we obviously lose him. But it doesn’t mean if he clears that we would send him down, or can’t send him down. It could be a variety of things. That’s up to upper management. He’s been on fourth line right wing lately, and that hasn’t been ideal for him. But that’s the position that’s been open for him.”

Fraser has tallied three goals and no assists in 24 games this season.

The B’s also recalled Jordan Caron, who was skating on the fourth line with Daniel Paille and Gregory Campbell during Sunday’s practice. Caron has recorded nine goals and 19 points in 23 games with the P-Bruins this year.

In other practice news, Milan Lucic and Patrice Bergeron both missed practice with undisclosed injuries. Julien said they’re both day-to-day, and they’ll be re-evaluated before Monday’s game against Detroit.

“All I’ve been told is day-to-day. I don’t know (about the Red Wings game),” Julien said, per the Boston Herald. “I guess day-to-day means (Monday) morning we’ll regroup on that. So that’s all I’ve been told anyways.”

Julien sent Bergeron to the locker room with 13 minutes remaining in Saturday’s game for precautionary reasons. Lucic finished the game, but he did drop the gloves with Dalton Prout during the second period.
