Jameis Winston: I Would Throw Vs. Any Defender, Even Richard Sherman

Jameis Winston hasn’t even been drafted into the NFL, but he’s already picking fights with the league’s top defensive backs.

Winston and Florida State take on Oregon in the Rose Bowl on Thursday, and the Ducks’ secondary already took a huge hit two weeks before the big game when All-American cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu tore his ACL in practice on Dec. 18. But the Seminoles quarterback said Sunday that it wouldn’t have mattered if Ekpre-Olomu played anyway.

That’s a bold statement.

Winston reportedly plans to declare for the 2015 draft, so we’ll just have to wait and see if he gets a chance to throw a pass in Richard Sherman’s direction. But don’t be surprised if the vocal Seattle Seahawks cornerback has nothing to say on this one. He’s probably too busy, you know, preparing to defend his team’s Super Bowl title in the playoffs.
