FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Boston Red Sox’s second official full-squad workout featured this spring’s first set of live batting practice sessions.
Rick Porcello and 14 other pitchers threw live BP on Thursday at an overcast JetBlue Park. Porcello succeeded Clay Buchholz and preceded Wade Miley.
Porcello faced David Ortiz and Hanley Ramirez, each of whom figures to be a huge part of the Red Sox’s offense in 2015. Neither slugger took too many cuts against the right-hander Thursday, though. It was a low-key session for the most part.
