As if Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees broadcasts weren’t good enough, the Red Sox Foundation is about to make one of them better.

NESN will air a special Red Sox Foundation Game Night on Friday, March 13, that will feature stories of the organization’s impact on families in New England. It’ll be shown throughout the Red Sox-Yankees game, with pregame coverage starting on NESN at 6:30 p.m. ET. There also will be a special Foundation-themed postgame show.

Red Sox Foundation honorary chairman Tim Wakefield will be part of the NESN broadcast, along with representatives from the Jimmy Fund, the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program, the Red Sox Scholars Program, Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) and The Dimock Center.

The special broadcast also will help raise money for thousands of charities and programs across New England and in Lee County, Fla. There are gifts — including Red Sox tickets and an autographed Wakefield bobblehead — for those who donate $150 or more.

Donations can be made in advance at redsox.com/gamenight.
