Russell Westbrook’s new mask has given him superpowers.

The Oklahoma City Thunder guard returned to the court for the first time Wednesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers, four days after undergoing surgery for a fractured cheek.

He wore a special protective mask for the occasion, and it did not slow him down. Quite the opposite, in fact.

We understand he’s playing the Sixers, but still. For a guy who literally dented his cheek just days ago, that’s absurd.

If you think that’s absurd though, check out Westbrook’s final stat line: 49 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and a block in a 123-118 overtime win. Westbrook now has registered a triple-double in his last four games — the first player since Michael Jordan to do so — and has scored 128 points in his last three games.

Maybe he’s not human after all.
