Did Josh Hamilton Tamper His Way From Angels To Texas Rangers?

The Josh Hamilton drama keeps getting weirder.

Hamilton told reporters Tuesday he sent a video of himself taking batting practice “full-go” on March 9 to the Texas Rangers, his former (and now current) team, via The Orange County Telegram.

If that sounds fishy, that’s because it is.

First of all, it immediately sounds alarms of tampering. Hamilton reportedly sent the video to former teammate Michael Young, who now serves as a special assistant in the Rangers’ front office, according to a source cited by The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The way that source phrased it, the situation was just two friends exchanging video, rather than Hamilton trying to manipulate a trade.

Still, if it really was “just two friends” exchanging a video, why would Hamilton say he sent the video to the Rangers so smugly? It seems to suggest he was trying to find his way out of town the entire time.

Second, someone blatantly is lying.

Hamilton had shoulder surgery on February 2, and the recovery time was supposed to take 6-8 weeks. The Angels never even gave Hamilton a locker in spring training because he wouldn’t be able to resume baseball activities before they left. Yet five weeks later, Hamilton sent that video, supposedly at his best.

Something isn’t right here, but maybe now that Hamilton is reunited with the Rangers things will all calm down.
