Electronic Arts is imitating life closely in its latest “FIFA 16” trailer, which stars Lionel Messi and a host of other stars.
Messi headlines EA Sports’ latest promo for the hit soccer video game, along with his Argentina teammate Sergio Aguero. U.S. women’s national team star Alex Morgan and NBA superstar Kobe Bryant also appear in the teaser. The presence of Pele is almost unremarkable in this cast.
“Play Beautiful” remains the dominant theme of the game and advertising campaign, as we learned in the original “FIFA 16” trailer. This new ad is somewhat surreal compared to the last because it blends the real and virtual worlds almost seamlessly.
“FIFA 16” comes out Sept. 22. Gamers can pre-order now.
