Talk about dad strength.

Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron became a father Wednesday morning after his wife, Stephanie, gave birth to the couple’s first child: a boy named Zack.

Bergeron told the NBC Sports Network broadcast that he was playing on one hour of sleep Wednesday night, but that didn’t stop him from netting two points in the first period — including a goal that tied the game at two.

The broadcast team referred to the performance as a “Bergeron Hat Trick,” consisting of a baby, a goal and an assist.

It looks like the baby room will have some new decor when he gets home, though.

It’s been one heck of a day for the new dad.
