The New England Patriots’ search for another veteran cornerback reportedly continued Wednesday.

The Patriots brought Cortland Finnegan to Foxboro for a workout, according to a source. Finnegan, who announced his retirement in March, left without a contract.

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound cornerback was selected in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL draft by the Tennessee Titans out of Samford. He spent six seasons with the Titans before playing with the St. Louis Rams in 2012 and 2013 and the Miami Dolphins in 2014.

Finnegan, 31, started 12 games with the Dolphins last season, finishing the campaign with 44 tackles and eight passes defended.

He was named a first-team All-Pro and earned a Pro Bowl selection during the 2008 season. He retired with 645 tackles, seven sacks, 18 interceptions and 86 passes defended.
