John Tortorella: Penguins ‘Whine Enough For The Whole League’

John Tortorella has never been shy about speaking his mind, particularly when it comes to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Tortorella has had his run-ins with the Penguins as head coach of the New York Rangers from 2008-09 through 2012-13 and now as the bench boss of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky was suspended one game Saturday for a cross check on Penguins captain Sidney Crosby. Dubinsky is an important player for Columbus, who surely will feel his loss, even if it’s for only one game.

Still, don’t expect Torts to complain. He thinks another team will take care of that.

The last time Tortorella blasted the Penguins came in the 2011-12 season, when then-Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik took out Rangers center Derek Stepan with a knee-on-knee hit.

Tortorella called it a “cheap, dirty hit,” then proceeded to call the Penguins “one of the most arrogant organizations in the league.”

Tortorella isn’t wrong.
