Jordan Spieth’s drive off the ninth tee Friday during the second round of the European Tour’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship stayed dry, but that was only after an unsuspecting fan assisted him.
Spieth pulled his drive on the hole so badly that it hit right off a fan’s backside and stayed out of the water.
The fortunate break for Spieth — and unfortunate one for the fan, who could be seen laughing afterward — allowed the golfer to save par. Spieth was 3 under for the tournament when play was called on his 13th hole.
