The Boston Red Sox might have some extra help in the outfield this season, but their newest addition will have to work on keeping his eye on the ball — and getting over the fact that he has four legs.

Red Sox starter David Price brought his French bulldog, Astro, to practice Monday at JetBlue Park at Fenway South, and they worked on shagging balls in front of the Green Monster.

OK, so they actually were playing fetch, but Astro still showed great hustle, nonetheless.

Astro was there for a photo shoot — not to try out for a spot on the Red Sox — so it looks as though our hopes of seeing him in uniform have been dashed. However, Price does bring Astro around with him fairly often, so this likely won’t be the last we see of the pooch.
