There’s little room for error in the NBA’s Eastern Conference, and the two teams that will face off Wednesday at TD Garden are proof.
The Boston Celtics enter tied for the No. 3 seed in the East with a 28-22 record after beating the New York Knicks on Tuesday night. The Detroit Pistons trail the C’s by just 1 1/2 games with a 26-23 record but are four spots behind Boston in the No. 7 seed.
Wednesday figures to be a close battle between the two clubs, whose three games this season all have been decided by five points or less. (The Celtics are 1-2.)
