The New England Patriots were able to add over $4.3 million to their adjusted team salary cap through carryover and 2015 adjustments, according to the NFL Players Association.

The Patriots’ adjusted team salary cap is $159,642,451, while the league-wide salary cap is $155,270,000. The Patriots carried over $1,347,882 from 2015 and have $3,024,569 in adjustments.

The Patriots have $17,224,480 in cap space, according to PatsCap.com. That accounts for Jerod Mayo’s retirement announcement but not Tom Brady’s reported two-year contract extension, which should bring that number down even more.

The Patriots’ No. 1 goal this offseason should be to extend the contracts of linebackers Jamie Collins and Dont’a Hightower, cornerbacks Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan and defensive end Chandler Jones, all of whom will hit free agency next offseason. Their biggest offseason needs are at wide receiver and running back.
