The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired a huge piece to help their rebuild when they won the 2016 NHL Draft Lottery on Saturday night.

It’s the first time the Leafs will pick first since 1985, when they took Wendel Clark. The top prospect in the 2016 draft class is American center Auston Matthews. The Leafs probably will take him given their need for a No. 1 center.

Toronto has 12 selections in 2016.
