Curt Schilling is out of a job.
“ESPN is an inclusive company,” the network said in a statement, via The New York Times. “Curt Schilling has been advised that his conduct was unacceptable and his employment with ESPN has been terminated.”
Schilling, who won two World Series with the Boston Red Sox, faced instant criticism Tuesday when he shared the meme, which he since has deleted. The now former ESPN baseball analyst also doubled down on his views in a comment on Facebook and in a blog post.
This isn’t the first time Schilling has said something controversial. ESPN suspended him after sending an insensitive tweet comparing Muslims to Nazis in August 2015, and he also recently criticized Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton.
