The first trailer for Bill Simmons’ forthcoming HBO show “Any Given Wednesday” dropped over the weekend, and as is the case with anything the New Englander is involved with, Boston sports were prominently featured.

The preview is a collection of “hot takes” from the former ESPN personality, including that New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick should run for president and that every Leonardo DiCaprio movie “would be just a little bit better” if it instead featured Boston’s own Matt Damon.

Simmons also called the Red Sox’s stunning defeat of the New York Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series “an act of God,” complete with a shot of David Ortiz as God himself.

Take a look at the full trailer below, with a warning that Simmons takes full advantage of HBO’s allowance of NSFW language.

“Any Given Wednesday” is set to premiere July 22.
