Nine months ago, Holly Holm shocked the world to become the UFC women’s bantamweight champion. Now she’s on the outside looking in, with the question of who will challenge title-holder Amanda Nunes still to be answered.
Holm dropped her second consecutive fight, this time losing a unanimous decision to upstart Valentina Shevchenko on Saturday night at UFC Fight Night Chicago. The loss has to sting Holm, who hoped to jump back into the title discussion after Miesha Tate, who beat her at UFC 196 in March, lost the belt herself at UFC 200, where Nunes beat her in the first round this month.
