David Ortiz’s Top Moments Of Red Sox-Yankees Rivalry Include Clutch Hits, Milestones

Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz There’s no doubt David Ortiz is a huge part of the resurgence of the Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees rivalry, and there are plenty of moments in his career to prove it.

The rivalry was reignited in a big way in the early 2000s, when Ortiz and the Red Sox met the Yankees in the 2003 and 2004 American League Championship Series, the latter of which ended in Boston’s first World Series win in 86 years. And Ortiz often was the center of it all.

From the clutch hits he tallied in the postseason to career milestones Ortiz reached against the Bronx Bombers, Big Papi gave Yankees fans plenty of reasons to hate him during his 14-year career with the Red Sox.
