The time has come for fantasy football owners.
Week 12 is the last regular-season week in most fantasy leagues, which means playoff spots and playoff seeding is on the line Thanksgiving week.
Field the best possible roster by using the waiver wire pickups listed below.
Quarterback: Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers
Kaepernick actually has been a pretty good fantasy quarterback of late. He’s averaging 271 passing yards with a total of five touchdowns and one interception in the last three games. Kap is averaging 52 yards as a rusher in the last five games, including 7.2 yards per carry. He’s not a bad replacement for an injured starter.
Other quarterbacks to pursue: none
Running Back: Robert Kelley, Washington Redskins
Kelley has taken over the Redskins’ starting running back job from Matt Jones and he’s not likely to give it up. He ran for 123 yards and three touchdowns against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. It was his third straight game of 87 or more rushing yards. Kelley also has four touchdowns in his last three games.
Other running backs to pursue: Dion Lewis (NE), James White (NE), James Starks (GB), Chris Ivory (JAC), Thomas Rawls (SEA)
Wide Receiver: Malcolm Mitchell, New England Patriots
If you’re desperate for a wideout, Mitchell might be worth a gamble. His four catches for 98 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s win over the San Francisco 49ers all were career highs, and Pats quarterback Tom Brady had plenty of praise for the rookie after the game. Mitchell is worth owning in PPR leagues for as long as Rob Gronkowski and Chris Hogan are out of the New England lineup.
Other wide receivers to target: Rishard Matthews (TEN), Tyler Boyd (CIN), Cole Beasley (DAL), Kenny Britt (LAR), Adam Thielen (MIN)
Tight End: Eric Ebron, Detroit Lions
Ebron has caught less than five passes in just two of his seven games this season, and he’s tallied 70-plus receiving yards in three straight matchups. He’s one of Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford’s most reliable targets and one of the most consistent tight ends in fantasy right now.
Other tight ends to pursue: C.J. Fiedorowicz (HOU)
