Panthers winger Shane Harper had Torey Krug lined up for a big hit in the Bruins’ zone during the third period of Tuesday night’s game in Florida, and B’s defenseman Adam McQuaid didn’t like it one bit.
McQuaid stuck up for his defensive partner by immediately going after Harper. Both of them dropped their gloves for a fight, and it ended in short order as McQuaid pounded away at his opponent along the glass.
McQuaid was given an extra minor penalty for roughing, resulting in a Panthers power play. The Bruins successfully killed off the 6-on-4 Florida advantage.
It was McQuaid’s first fight of the season.
