The New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens played in front of a raucous Gillette Stadium crowd Monday night with many, many more watching at home.

It was an important game, of course, and we all understand the ridiculous grip football has on the overall sports-viewing habits of many folks. So, if you happened to miss the Boston Bruins’ game against the Montreal Canadiens, we understand.

But know this: You missed one heckuva hockey game.

The Bruins and Canadiens played a physical, nasty contest that couldn’t be decided in 60 minutes. The longtime rivals battled into overtime, and that extra session was played at a break-neck speed with bodies flying all over the ice.

When it was all said and done, however, the Bruins found a way to win 2-1, as Ryan Spooner scored the OT game-winner on a gorgeous pass from Torey Krug.
