Marshall returns to the NCAA Tournament with a game against everyone’s favorite dark horse.

The Thundering Herd will face the Wichita State Shockers on Friday in San Diego at Viejas Arena in a Round of 64 game. Marshall hasn’t appeared in the NCAA Tournament since 1987 and is the underdog against the Shockers, who earned a tournment bid out of the American Athletic Conference.

If Landry Shamet doesn’t star for Wichita State as he normally does, center Shaquille Morris can pick up the slack for the Shockers.

Marshall’s Jon Elmore averages 22.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game, and his team will rely on his all-around prowess in order to earn a first-round upset.
