J.D. Martinez is making sure he gets a head start on preparing for next season.

The Boston Red Sox designated hitter struggled during the shortened 2020 Major League Baseball campaign. Martinez revealed part of the down year was due to the fact COVID-19 protocols restricted his access to the video room.

Martinez always has prided himself on being a "trained hitter" and learning from his mistakes. And now it appears he's getting in the cage early as the new season looms.

Check out the video posted to his Instagram story Wednesday:

      Lookin' good, J.D.

The Red Sox are slated to open their 2021 season April 1 at Fenway Park against the Baltimore Orioles.
