Xander Bogaerts did not put enough on the bat to get a ball over the center-field wall in the fifth inning, but he mangaged to score anyway.
The Boston Red Sox shortstop doubled to deep right-center field in the fifth inning of Monday evening game against the Tampa Bay Rays. He snuck his way to third base while J.D. Martinez crossed home plate and manager to score after an errant throw from Rays’ catcher Mike Zunino that missed third base.
The crazy play made it 5-0, Boston.
