One of the highlights of Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis’ career night Tuesday was written in the stars.

Porzingis went off against the New York Knicks in an eventual 119-117 overtime win at Madison Square Garden. He torched the team that drafted him to the tune of 34 points on 11-of-19 shooting, including a ridiculous 8-for-13 showing from beyond the 3-point line.

One of those eight makes came from way beyond the line, as Porzingis launched one from the “K” in the Knicks logo midway through the third quarter.

“I don’t know, the ball rolled to me, I said ‘This is destiny’ (and) just let it fly without thinking too much,” Porzingis told reporters after the game, per NBC Sports Boston. “Those are the best kind of nights, just playing free and letting it fly and shots are going in.”

Porzingis was just getting started, too. Thirteen of his 34 points came in the third quarter, and he added five in the overtime frame to propel Boston to its 59th win of the season.

In the process, the Celtics swept the season series with their rivals. With Cleveland locking up the Eastern Conference’s top seed, the most likely outcome for the playoffs is the Celtics and Knicks getting the Nos. 2 and 3 seeds, respectively. That means there’s a good chance these teams meet again a little later in the spring.

Perhaps it’s destiny?
