Adrian Peterson Says He Will Play Sunday for His Fantasy Football OwnersThe Minnesota Vikings aren’t going to the postseason this year, but Adrian Peterson wants contribute to the fantasy football playoffs if he can.

He says that he will play this weekend against the Saints, despite a bum ankle that might not be completely healed. He wants a chance at another 1,000-yard season or to break Robert Smith‘s franchise rushing record. He also wants to help his fantasy football owners win their leagues.

“It’s very important [that I play], especially for my fantasy team owners,” Peterson told the Star Tribune. “They’ve been giving me a hard time.”

Peterson says that he’s received many messages on Twitter from fantasy football players who need A.P. to step up for them during the stretch run. Some owners have even tried to bribe him in order to get him back on the field.

“Sometimes, it’s like, wow,” he admits. “Some of the things I read on there [are] crazy.”

Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier didn’t comment on Peterson’s fantasy value, but he did say that if Peterson practices Friday, there is a good chance that the star running back sees the field on Sunday.
