Miami Searching For Road Win Against Struggling Boston College

The free-falling Boston College Eagles have tumbled into the basement in the ACC standings following their 70-56 loss to the Syracuse Orange, failing to cover as two-point home underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The straight-up loss dropped the Eagles? record to 9-14 overall — and a brutal 1-9 in conference play — and marked the squad?s third against-the-spread loss in its last four outings, fifth consecutive SU defeat, and 10th in its last 12 contests.

Boston College faces another tough challenge this weekend when they receive a visit from the Miami Hurricanes.

Miami has endured some struggles of its own, losing four of its last five, SU and ATS, heading into Sunday?s matchup at Conte Forum, and is coming off a disappointing 72-70 loss to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, failing to cover as a 2.5-point home court favorite on the college basketball betting lines.

However, a date with Boston College may be just the boost the Canes need. Miami has dominated the Eagles in recent years, posting SU wins in their last nine meetings, 6-3 ATS, dating back to January 2011.

In NHL action, the Boston Bruins look to stop a two-game losing streak when they visit the Vancouver Canucks on Friday night in the first game of a five-game western road trip.

The Bruins have lost three of their last four games, all as moneyline favorites, while being outscored 12-8. The club maintains a tenuous grip on the second wild-card spot in the NHL?s Eastern Conference, sitting just four points ahead of the Florida Panthers who also hold two games in hand on the Bruins.

But despite their uncertain playoff status, the Bruins remain perched among the favorites on the Stanley Cup odds, joining six NHL rivals with odds of 12/1 to win the championship this spring.

With the NBA schedule on hold for this weekend?s All-Star festivities in New York City, the Boston Celtics enjoy a lengthy break until next Friday when they visit the Sacramento Kings.

The 20-31 Celtics enter the All-Star Break just 1 1/2 games back of the Miami Heat for the eighth and final playoff spot in the NBA?s Eastern Conference, after posting SU wins in four of their last five while rewarding bettors with 11 ATS wins in their last 13 games.
