Kentucky Derby Odds 2016: Early Betting Lines, Favorites To Win Race

by

May 3, 2016

The 2016 Kentucky Derby will be run Saturday, but the betting lines already are out.

This is one of the most prestigious events on the sports calendar, and horse racing fans were treated to an historic Triple Crown last year as American Pharoah became the first horse to win the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes in one year since Affirmed in 1978.

Nyquist is the favorite so far. He’s undefeated in his career and has the speed and stamina to dominate Churchill Downs.

Exaggerator, who is tied for the second-best odds to win, has looked very good in training. Here’s footage from a recent practice session.

Here are the odds for all of the horses in the field, via OddsShark.
