Russell Wilson Injury: Seahawks Quarterback Sprains Knee, Leaves Blowout Win Vs. 49ers

Russell Wilson was already nursing an ankle injury. Now, that’s the least of his worries.

The Seattle Seahawks quarterback twice left Sunday’s blowout 38-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers with what the team is calling a sprained left knee.

Wilson’s knee bent horrifically in the wrong direction during one play in which he was scrambling to his right, and he left the game but returned after missing only one snap. He later left the game again and was fitted with a left knee brace. He intends to play in Week 4 and said he could have returned Sunday if the game was close.

Some reports speculate Wilson has a sprained MCL, but fortunately it appears his ACL is in tact. There didn’t sound like too much concern from Wilson or Seahawks coach Pete Carroll after the game.
