The hockey season may be over, but it’s still a busy week for the NHL.
The NHL Awards Show will take place in Las Vegas on Wednesday night, and then it’ll be back to the drawing board for general managers across the league, as the NHL draft is set for Friday and Saturday in Pittsburgh.
That means it’s a perfect opportunity to look back on the season that was, while also glancing ahead toward next season and beyond. In order to do that, NESN.com NHL insider Douglas Flynn joined Ricky Doyle to discuss a variety of topics.
Flynn, who is even part of the awards voting process, gave his picks, while also pointing out who he thought was going to walk away with this year’s hardware. The pair also broke down the NHL draft, including how Peter Chiarelli‘s Bruins might approach the first round.
This year’s draft could be particularly interesting considering the trade talks that are already heating up. Will we see a big name get dealt? Take a listen to this edition of the NESN.com podcast to find out.
