The Boston Red Sox let the MLB trade deadline pass without making any big moves, only picking up reliever Ryan Cook from the Oakland Athletics.

NESN.com’s Red Sox beat writer Ricky Doyle broke down Boston’s action — or rather inaction — at the trade deadline. He also sat down with Ashley Allen to discuss moves that could be upcoming this offseason, and Red Sox GM Ben Cherington’s explanation for the shortage of moves.
