On Tuesday, Robert Kraft met with some hand-picked media outlets to discuss the Aaron Hernandez situation.
During his conference with The Boston Globe, Boston Herald and ESPN.com, Kraft admitted to the Patriots’ mistake of drafting the tight end now entangled in a murder investigation. While it was nice to hear the Patriots take responsibility, it was by no means necessary. Given the information they had about Hernandez, there was no way to know he would ever be involved in anything this serious.
Had the Patriots been able to predict anything close to this of happening, they certainly would not have handed him a contract extension before the 2012 season.
On this week’s Gunslingers Podcast, NESN.com NFL writers Doug Kyed and Luke Hughes discussed the Hernandez situation, Kraft’s comments, “The Patriot Way,” Matthew Stafford‘s contract and Colin Kaepernick‘s hat choice. Kyed also discusses his love for the original Seahawks uniforms.
