It was only a matter of time before Bill Belichick nabbed an Olympic athlete.
According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Patriots will sign Olympic sprinter Jeff Demps. Demps was a Florida Gators running back from 2008-11 but passed on the NFL draft to pursue a track career.
While at Florida, Demps averaged 6.7 yards per carry while scoring 23 touchdowns overall. At the 2012 London Games, the 22-year-old earned a silver medal, competing with the 4×100-meter relay U.S. team.
