AJ McCarron is riding high after winning his second straight national championship at Alabama, but most of the accolades raining down on the 22-year-old quarterback on Tuesday concern his off-the-field exploits.
McCarron’s girlfriend, Miss Alabama winner Katherine Webb, stole the show during Monday’s BCS National Championship game, earning herself more than 40,000 Twitter followers and countless other admirers in the process.
Some of the admirers were of the more high-profile variety too, as announcer Brent Musburger fawned over Webb during the game’s broadcast, while others took a more tech-savvy route.
Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray and Arizona Cardinals defensive end Darnell Dockett both expressed their feelings toward Webb on Twitter on Monday, with Dockett even going so far as to tweet out his phone number. Not one to let such advances go unnoticed, McCarron responded to the pair after the game.
Check out the pair of exchanges below.
