Traditionalists can rest easy. The Spurs, the most hidebound franchise in the NBA in many respects, are not joining the short-sleeved revolution after all.
The Spurs unveiled their camouflaged alternate uniforms on Thursday, but contrary to earlier reports the jerseys were not sleeved. The Golden State Warriors debuted the confusing look last season, and teams like the Phoenix Suns have taken the concept and run with it for the coming season.
As a result, the Spurs will look different, but not too different, in a nice nod to San Antonio’s proud military history. Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green showed off the duds, which can be seen in the tweet below from UniWatch.
