Tiger Woods had a nice round Thursday at the British Open, his first major of the season. That round, however, also included him hitting a man in the face with a tee shot.
It sounds much worse than it actually was, as Woods’ errant tee shot on the 17th hole at Royal Liverpool Golf Club took an awkward bounce after landing in the rough. That bounce ended up connecting with the face of a British Open marshal standing nearby.
As you can see, that could have been a lot worse. The soft landing absorbed the blow, but it still must have stung a little bit. That’s still a pretty small price to pay for an awesome story.
