So it’s going to be this kind of day for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

On the opening drive of Saturday’s Iowa-Pittsburgh game, Hawkeyes quarterback Jake Hudock threw a gem of a pass downfield to wide receiver Damond Powell, who then proceeded to turn what would have been a huge gain into the gift of all gifts for the Panthers.

The ball deflected right off of Powell’s hands and landed perfectly into the arms of defensive back Lafayette Pitts.

Despite the rough start, the Hawkeyes went on to earn the 24-20 victory.
