Ray Lewis On Ray Rice: ‘Some Things You Can Cover Up,’ Some You Can’t

The Baltimore Ravens have dominated the news of late for all the wrong reasons.

The latest report from ESPN’s “Outside The Lines” was the most damning yet, with sources saying the Ravens actively engaged in a cover-up in an attempt to prevent video of running back Ray Rice punching his then-fiancée from going public.

Former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis discussed the scandal on ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown,” saying, among other things, that the public focus should be less on the investigation and more on Rice’s actions.

“Sometimes we forget why we’re here,” Lewis said. “We’re here for one reason and one reason only. We’re here for domestic violence. We’re here because we saw a friend of mine brutally hit his wife in an elevator. There’s some things you can cover up and then there’s some things you can’t.”
