The Americans had their work cut out for them Sunday in Scotland at the Ryder Cup, but Patrick Reed is doing all he can to inspire his teammates.

Team USA entered the final day of the tournament trailing 10-6 with the Europeans needing just four points during Sunday’s singles matches to retain the Cup. The U.S. got off to a bit of a sluggish start in the make-or-break day, but they got a big jolt when Reed drained a putt early in his match.

As soon as Reed’s birdie putt on the par-4 seventh hole fell, the 24-year-old Texas native decided to give it right back to the boisterous pro-Europe crowd at Gleneagles. Reed put his finger to his mouth and shushed the crowd.

Reed’s celebration didn’t end there, though. As he started walking toward the next hole, Reed went a little nuts as he pumped himself up.

Ryder Cup legend Colin Montgomerie — certainly pulling for the Euros — made a very good point when talking to FOX Sports analyst Robert Lusetich.
