12:21 a.m.: Did you think the Dodgers were done?

Multiple sources are reporting that the Dodgers traded top pitching prospect Andrew Heaney, who they acquired this afternoon, to the Los Angeles Angels for second baseman Howie Kendrick.

11:26 p.m.: The Dodgers are having a busy day.

FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reports that the club is close to signing free agent reliever Brandon McCarthy.

10:35 p.m.: We probably won’t hear any definite announcements on the Miley trade Wednesday night, per The Boston Globe’s Pete Abraham.

9:54 p.m.: So maybe the Marlins weren’t in the mix, after all.

FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Red Sox and Diamondbacks have agreed in principle to a trade for Wade Miley.

9:39 p.m.: Once upon a time, the Red Sox were “close” to a deal with the Diamondbacks for pitcher Wade Miley. Now, the Marlins are back in the mix.

8:12 p.m.: There’s a possibility that the Marlins didn’t ship away all of those prospects for nothing. The Gordon-Heaney and Rollins trades could very well be connected.

[tweet https://twitter.com/MattGelb/status/542848854547128320 align=’center’%5D

8:01 p.m.: Looks like somebody jumped the gun on Santana.

The New York Post’s Joel Sherman reports that the Twins are trying to get a deal done with the pitcher, but nothing has been finalized.

7:55 p.m.: The Red Sox and Giants might find themselves in yet another bidding war for a coveted starting pitcher.

The two clubs have their eyes on James Shields, per SB Nation’s Chris Cotillo.

Also, the Minnesota Twins have reportedly made a deal with Ervin Santana.

7:04 p.m.: It looks as though the Dodgers are getting a pretty nice haul for Gordon and Haren.

[tweet https://twitter.com/clarkspencer/status/542831424793870339 align=’center’%5D

6:45 p.m.: Dee Gordon seems to be headed to Miami, but Dan Haren isn’t a sure bet.

CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman reports that the deal is done, but FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal is saying that Haren is threatening to retire if he’s shipped away to the Sunshine State.

[tweet https://twitter.com/JonHeymanCBS/status/542826315443761152 align=’center’%5D

[tweet https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/542826513972731905 align=’center’%5D

The Dodgers aren’t too concerned about Haren, though, as they’re already talking to starting pitchers.

[tweet https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/542826303213166592 align=’center’%5D

6:28 p.m.: Dee Gordon might be East Coast-bound.

ESPN’s Buster Olney is reporting that the Dodgers are in serious trade talks about the second baseman with the Miami Marlins. The deal could bring them Andrew Heaney, who’s a top left-handed pitching prospect.

[tweet https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/542821744793235457 align=’center’%5D

6:00 p.m.: So remember that time the Boston Red Sox were discussing a trade with the Philadelphia Phillies for pitcher Antonio Bastardo?

Yeah, that’s not happening.

CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman reports that the Phils shipped Bastardo to the other side of Pennsylvania to join the Pittsburgh Pirates.

[tweet https://twitter.com/JonHeymanCBS/status/542814275505364992 align=’center’%5D

Also, this is what happens when super agent Scott Boras — who represents that guy Max Scherzer — gets the floor.

[tweet https://twitter.com/ChrisCotillo/status/542813477895540736 align=’center’%5D

5:34 p.m.: The Los Angeles Dodgers found their shortstop. After engaging in talks, the Phillies traded their cornerstone player, Jimmy Rollins, to L.A.

[tweet https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1/status/542809358283714560 align=’center’]

Now, the attention turns to Rollins’ former teammate, Cole Hamels. The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo reports the Red Sox will now “get serious” about putting together a deal for the starting pitcher with Jon Lester gone.

[tweet https://twitter.com/nickcafardo/status/542808362606272512 align=’center’]

4:53 p.m.: Just kidding about Wade Miley, guys. Conflicting reports are emerging, with Bob Nightengale of USA Today reporting that the Red Sox are not involved in any trade discussions with the starting pitcher.

[tweet https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/542797493499490304 align=’center’]

The Miami Marlins are interested in Miley, though.

[tweet https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/542797805962543104 align=’center’]

4:07 p.m.: Jimmy Rollins might be on his way out of Philadelphia.

Ken Rosenthal reports that the Dodgers and Phillies are in talks regarding the shortstop, noting that Rollins would be willing to waive his no-trade clause to L.A.

[tweet https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/542786044777594880 align=’center’]

4:01 p.m.: It’s sounding more and more likely that the Red Sox will land Wade Miley.

CSNNE’s Sean McAdam reports a team has dropped out of the Miley sweepstakes, with the Sox getting close to agreeing to a deal with the pitcher.

[tweet https://twitter.com/Sean_McAdam/status/542785733614764032 align=’center’]

Miley went 8-12 with a 4.34 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 33 starts in 2014 with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

3:04 p.m.: Dee Gordon’s name has been tossed around a lot during these winter meetings. It was reported the Dodgers were telling teams that the second baseman was available and Ken Rosenthal confirmed as much today.

[tweet https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/542770316523491328 align=’center’]

2:34 p.m.: The 2015 Chicago Cubs might look a lot like the 2014 Boston Red Sox.

The Cubs are now setting their sights on Jonny Gomes, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

[tweet https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/542763583663132672 align=’center’]

1:34 p.m.: So maybe Cole Hamels isn’t going to the Red Sox. ESPN’s Jayson Stark reported Boston hasn’t “reengaged” Phillies after it was announced Jon Lester was going to the Chicago Cubs.

[tweet https://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/542748732790304768 align=’center’]

Stark added they might be looking at other ways to add pitching.

[tweet https://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/542749228787712000 align=’center’]

1:19 p.m.: If you’re a team that lost out on Jon Lester, you’re now interested in Cole Hamels. Basically. The San Francisco Giants are joining the Angels, Dodgers and the Red Sox in pursuit of the starting pitcher, ESPN’s Jayson Stark reports, citing sources.

[tweet https://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/542736504024334336 align=’center’]

1:06 p.m.: ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick has the financial details of Pat Neshek’s contract with the Houston Astros.

[tweet https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/542741791078748160 align=’center’]

12:55 p.m.: Sergio Romo could soon find himself a new home.

ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick reports that the free-agent pitcher’s market is “starting to heat up,” with the Dodgers, Red Sox and Yankees all vying for his services.

[tweet https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/542739392637308930 align=’center’]

12:40 p.m.: Despite interest from a handful of teams — and a rumor that he could be following Jon Lester to the Chicago Cubs — David Ross said he isn’t close to a deal with any ball club at the moment, The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo reports.

[tweet https://twitter.com/nickcafardo/status/542733542141071360 align=’center’]

11:36 a.m.: Here are some more reported details on Jon Lester’s contract with the Cubs via ESPN’s Jayson Stark.

[tweet https://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/542719344589811712 align=’center’]

11:17 a.m.: MLB.com’s Brian McTaggert has more on the Houston Astros agreeing to a deal with Pat Neshek.

[tweet https://twitter.com/brianmctaggart/status/542713365701742596 align=’center’]

10:41 a.m.: Jon Lester’s deal with the Chicago Cubs gets sweeter for the southpaw.

[tweet https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/542704824559489024 align=’center’]

10:04 a.m.: The Houston Astros continue to bolster their bullpen. They added right-hander Pat Neshek after nabbing Luke Gregerson just moments ago.

[tweet https://twitter.com/JonHeymanCBS/status/542696263532036096 align=’center’]

The 34-year-old had a phenomenal 2014 season with the St. Louis Cardinals, posting a 1.87 ERA  with 68 strikeouts and just nine walks in 71 outings.

9:22 a.m.: Another big reliever is off the board. The Houston Astros and Luke Gregerson have agreed to a three-year, $18.5 million deal, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reports.

[tweet https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/542687436233375745 align=’center’]

8:09 a.m.: While you were sleeping, Jon Lester was busy shaking up the baseball world.

The most sought-after free agent chose the Chicago Cubs, according to multiple reports, agreeing to a six-year, $155 million contract. The deal reportedly also includes a $15 million vesting option for a seventh year. It came down to the Boston Red Sox and the Cubs, but ultimately the southpaw chose the Cubs because he wanted to make history in Chicago, Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports
