Blocking is not Peyton Manning’s forte.

The Denver Broncos quarterback scared the entire state of Colorado when he tried to help out his running back by blocking Donald Butler near the goal line during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.

It went about as well as expected for Manning.

Manning jogged straight to the locker room following the play, and the Broncos announced he suffered a thigh injury shortly after. According to the CBS broadcast, Manning had been dealing with “flu-like” symptoms before the game even started, and he returned to the locker room to receive an IV.

Manning returned for the start of the third quarter, but it’s safe to say his blocking career likely is over.
