The Boston College Eagles will shoot for their fourth consecutive win against the spread and first straight-up win of the season against an Atlantic Coast Conference rival when they welcome No. 2 Virginia to town this weekend.

The Eagles are coming off a 64-57 victory over the Harvard Crimson on Wednesday night, winning outright as three-point home underdogs and improving their overall record to 8-7.

The win halted Boston College’s recent three-game losing streak, but despite their struggles, the Eagles have remained a strong bet in recent outings, going 7-4 ATS in games where lines were available at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The club goes into Saturday afternoon?s Cavaliers-Eagles matchup at Conte Forum with only one SU win in its last four meetings with Virginia. The Cavaliers’ perfect 16-0 record has propelled them up the AP Top 25 rankings and boosted their odds of claiming this year?s national championship to 10/1 on the college basketball futures.

However, the Eagles are an impressive 4-1 SU in their last five home dates against the Cavs, posting a 53-52 win as four-point underdogs in Virginia?s last visit two years ago, and they’re 4-1 ATS in their last five contests against their conference rivals.

Following their clash with the Cavaliers, the Eagles travel to Syracuse for a meeting with the red-hot Orange. Winners of its last seven SU, Syracuse takes a 13-4 record into its showdown this weekend with the struggling Clemson Tigers.

The Orange are a perfect 4-0 SU against conference rivals but just 1-4 ATS in their last five, and they remain distant 75/1 long shots in college basketball futures betting at the sportsbooks.

The 9-7 Tigers are coming off a devastating 65-42 loss to Virginia on Tuesday night and are a disappointing 2-4 ATS in their last six games.

In other college basketball betting action in the days ahead, No. 1 Kentucky will look to improve to a perfect 17-0 when it hits the hardwood against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday.

While the Wildcats have owned the win column in the standings and remain a decisive 1/1 bet to claim the 2015 national championship, they have been a middling wager of late, going 5-4-1 ATS and covering just once when favored by more than 15.5 points.

The 12-4 Crimson Tide are just 2-7 SU in their last nine against Kentucky, according to the OddsShark College Basketball Database, but are 6-1 ATS in their last seven meetings with their conference rivals.
