Brandon Browner made headlines before Super Bowl XLIX when he encouraged his New England Patriots teammates to target Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas’ injuries.
According to Browner, he was trying not to stir up any further beef with his former Seattle Seahawks teammates Tuesday night, when he launched his Twitter rant on rapper Kanye West.
“To be honest, a fan had said something about the (Legion of Boom), and I was trying to deflect my answer because I didn’t want to rub Richard Sherman and those guys the wrong way,” Browner said Wednesday on NFL Network’s “NFL Total Access.” “So, I put up that Kanye West tweet, and it took off. So I had some fun with it.”
Browner tweeted about West — and the rapper’s comments after the Grammy Awards — throughout his six hour flight to Los Angeles, where he taped segments for NFL Network.
