It appears the Washington Nationals pitching staff is having no problem getting along.

The Nationals have big goals this season after yet another busy offseason, which they punctuated by signing top free-agent pitcher Max Scherzer to a megadeal. Now the Nats enter the season with arguably the big leagues’ top rotation including Scherzer, Gio Gonzalez, Stephen Strasburg, Doug Fister and Jordan Zimmermann.

There don’t appear to be any sorts of issue for those big names and presumably big egos to coexist as a staff. In fact, it seems like things are going swimmingly, as evidenced Wednesday.

During the Nationals’ game against the Detroit Tigers, Gonzalez did an in-game interview with MASN. Gonzalez’s task was clear: The left-hander tried to fit the word “meow” into the conversation as many times as he could. With Scherzer counting along, Gonzalez didn’t disappoint.

For those completely confused as to why Gonzalez did what he did and why it’s relevant at all, it’s an obvious play on this scene from the movie “Super Troopers.”
