The New England Patriots reportedly are showing interest in one of the best small-school prospects in the 2015 NFL draft.

The Patriots worked out Texas Southern cornerback Tray Walker on Monday, Draft Insider’s Tony Pauline reported. The St. Louis Rams also worked out Walker on Tuesday, according to Pauline.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback ran a 4.53-second 40-yard dash at his pro day with a 10-foot, 2-inch broad jump, 32.5-inch vertical leap, 4.3-second short shuttle and 6.8-second 3-cone. He’s projected to be selected late in the 2015 NFL draft.

Texas Southern is an FCS school in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Patriots have had success with small-school prospects in the past, notably Super Bowl XLIX hero cornerback Malcolm Butler, who went to Division II West Alabama.

Other current Patriots Players from FCS or Division II schools:

Jimmy Garoppolo, quarterback (Eastern Illinois)
Kyle Arrington, cornerback (Hofstra)
Travaris Cadet, running back (Appalachian State)
James Develin, fullback (Brown)
Rufus Johnson, linebacker (Tarleton State)
Zach Moore, defensive end (Concordia-St. Paul)
Tyler Ott, long snapper (Harvard)
Daxton Swanson, defensive back (Sam Houston State)
