Robert Lewandowski made sure Bayern Munich didn’t need a full complement of players in order to beat Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

Lewandowski scored two goals in Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win in the Bundesliga (Germany’s first division), and his first was one of the best we’ve seen this season.

The game was goal-less in the 15th minute when Thomas Muller headed the ball toward Lewandowski, who controlled it, spun and volleyed his shot past goalkeeper Kevin Trapp. Lewandowski kicked the ball so hard, some feared it might break the netting.

The soccer world has come to expect goals like this from Lewandowski. The 26-year-old has been one the sport’s most feared strikers for the last three years, and this season — his first with Bayern Munich — is no different.

Lewandowski has scored 20 goals in 39 games in all competitions this season. His 16 league goals is third behind teammate Arjen Robben (17) and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Alexander Meier (19). Lewandowski might not successfully defend the Bundesliga Golden Boot Award (for top goal scorer) but he will continue to win games and new fans with exploits like these.

Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola had just 14 senior players at his disposal for the Eintracht Frankfurt game, as injuries have ravaged his star-studded squad.

Luckily, one of them was a Polish hitman named Lewandowski, who is on the verge of firing Bayern Munich to its third-straight Bundesliga title.
