Wil Myers Pulls Jose Canseco, Has Home Run Bounce Off His Head (Video)

Wil Myers has had some adventures in the outfield.

Myers was tortured by Boston Red Sox fans in 2013 when, as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays, he misplayed a fly ball in Game 1 of the American League Division Series. Now with the San Diego Padres, Myers had another outfield folly Tuesday night versus the Houston Astros.

To his credit, Myers got a pretty good read on a deep fly ball off the bat of Evan Gattis. However, as Myers got to the fence, things got a little dicey. Myers was able to get a glove on the ball, but he couldn’t pull in the catch. The ball deflected off his glove and hit him square on top of the head before bouncing over the wall for a home run.

The play is kind of just as funny in photographic form, too.

MLB: Houston Astros at San Diego PadresIt’s bad, but the fact that Myers got a glove on the ball makes it just a little bit better than Jose Canseco’s infamous blooper.
