The Cleveland Indians aren’t out of the playoff race quite yet, but there’s one player who definitely isn’t for sale ahead of the Major League Baseball trade deadline.

At 45-48, the Indians certainly aren’t a lock for the postseason. However, the club is 4 1/2 games out of an American League wild card spot and could have a fighting chance with a few good moves.

But even though teams reportedly have shown interest in infielder Mike Aviles, the Indians won’t send him anywhere for good reason.

Cleveland has showed continued support for Aviles and his family, but this is the best example yet. The Indians are putting Aviles ahead of something that could be good for the team so his family doesn’t have to deal with any more stress.

In professional sports, where shuffling players around is viewed as strictly business in any situation, seeing a team look out for its employees definitely is refreshing.
