harper editIt’s a good time to be a baseball fan.

The first half of the 2015 Major League Baseball season wasn’t just entertaining. It also saw an influx of incredible young talent, continuing a trend that’s been in the works for a few seasons.

MLB’s surplus of young stars is evident in NESN.com’s 2015 midseason awards, as multiple recipients are in their early- to mid-20s. And that’s not even counting the Rookie of the Year winners.

The races for American League and National League MVP, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year and Manager of the Year only should heat up in the second half. Perhaps some dark horse candidates even will emerge. After all, no one wins hardware based solely on the first half.

Either way, the future truly looks bright for the league despite the doom and gloom you might have heard about the state of the sport in recent years. The cream of the current crop proves such.

Let’s take a look at which players and managers shined brightest during a unique first half.
